New Fat Cyclist Jerseys: Sold Out in One Day
Final Jersey Update: All jerseys, all sizes, are now sold out.
A Note from Fatty: I’ll update today’s post as events warrant.
UPDATE 1: Just saw the Twin Six Home Page, featuring the pink Fat Cyclist jersey front and center. Wow. I’ve updated text and links.
Update 2: Men’s pink jerseys are gone. They lasted eight minutes. Wow.
Update 3: Now I know what the special projects are: men’s and women’s t-shirts in pink, and Fat Cyclist pint glasses, with 100% of the profit from all of these things going to the WIN Susan fund. Very cool. Read more below.
Update 4: Men’s size Small is out. I find it very ironic that the first size to sell out in a Fat Cyclist jersey is size Small.
Update 5: Men’s size Medium is out. And we’re 3/4 of the way through the entire Fat Cyclist jersey inventory for the year…in the first day they’re available. Thanks very very very much for your support!
Update 6: At this point, it’s easier to say what’s in than what’s out, jersey-wise. Here’s what’s still available:
- Men’s: Large and XXL (just a few of the XXL; if you plan to get one, you probably shouldn’t wait)
- Women’s: Small (just a few), Medium, Large, XL (just a few) — if you want a Small or XL, you shouldn’t wait.
So…ummm…I’m beginning to think maybe I should have ordered more if I wanted to have some for sale through the Christmas season.
Update 7: Well, it’s a good thing I don’t do inventory requirement forecasting for a living. Because here’s the status of the Fat Cyclist jersey inventory, less than a day after the months-long wait for these jerseys was over:
- Men’s: Out. All sizes, all colors.
- Women’s: There are a few Small, Medium, Large, and XL jerseys left. I’m betting they’ll be gone by tomorrow morning.
So. Out of 500 jerseys, we have 34 left. After 12 hours.
Wow.
On one hand, I want to orchestrate a big sweaty worldwide Fat Cyclist hug as a thank you for this phenomenal show of support during the crappiest time of my life. You guys came through for me.
On the other hand, I feel like I should apologize to anyone who wanted a jersey in a certain size, gender, and color and didn’t get it. Tomorrow I’ll talk with the Twin Six guys and we’ll start talks about how many 2009 (or Fall 2008) jerseys there should be, and how soon we might be able to get them.
And on the third hand, at least now you don’t have to worry about me figuring out a way to squeeze in a plug for my jerseys every post for the next several months.
Update 8 (Tuesday AM): Just a few Women’s Medium and Large jerseys left. And then they’re all gone. I’m going to talk to Twin Six today and see whether a re-order is possible, and if so what the timeline might look like.
In just fifteen minutes or so, the The new 2008 Fat Cyclist jerseys will go are now on sale. Twin Six tells me they’re going to push the order pages live right at noon CDT, although I understand the jerseys were accidentally (for eight minutes) on sale in the middle of the night last night, during which five of you (one in California, two in Canada, two in Sweden) managed to score the first 2008 jerseys (Way to hustle, guys).
I’m rambling, aren’t I? I can’t help it.
Here’s what the jerseys look like, just as a reminder. Click any image for a larger version, to get a closer look: to go to that jersey’s ordering page:
Men’s (GONE)
Women’s (GONE)
And here’s the inside collar, of every jersey:
In the past I’ve used these jerseys to donate to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. This time, the jerseys — no matter what color — are all about Susan. I’ll be raising money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation in other ways.
Men’s Pink: Won’t Be In Stock Long GONE.
In addition to the men’s orange jerseys and the women’s pink jerseys, Twin Six has produced an extremely limited quantity of men’s jerseys in pink.
And by “limited,” I mean that there aren’t very many any left. They sold out in ten minutes. Sorry!
At all.
It’s maybe presumptuous of me to recommend that if you want a men’s pink jersey you go buy one as soon as they’re available, but I kind of suspect that this is good advice. I will update this section with their availability — or lack thereof? — as soon as I know anything.
Surprises? Surprises! Pint Glasses and Pink T-Shirts The Twin Six guys have an intriguing post on their News page. It says, in addition to the information about the jerseys being available today, that “a couple other special projects will go live as well.”
Did I ask what those special projects are?
Yes.
Did they tell me what those special projects are?
No.
But I’m pretty darned curious.
Turns out that there are a couple new things the Twin Six guys put together on the sly, with 100% of the profits going to the WIN Susan fund. (Click any image to go to the catalog page.)
Women’s T’s ($22.00)
Men’s T’s ($22.00)
Pint Glasses ($30.00 for set of 4)
Questions?
If you’ve got questions about these jerseys, go ahead and ask in comments. I’ll reply as often as I can, and if some questions get asked frequently, I’ll move the question and my answer up here.
Q. Is the sizing the same as last year?
A. Yes it is. It seems to me, though, that the arm elastic isn’t as constricting, which is a good thing as far as I’m concerned, because I have massive biceps. More information about Twin Six jersey sizing here.
Q. So how many men’s pink jerseys were there?
A. There were 50.
Q. Why only 50 men’s pink jerseys?
A. Some of you may remember that last year’s pink jerseys (including mens) took several weeks to sell out, so 50 seemed like a good number at the time. I thought they’d go fast (like in a day or two), but I didn’t expect them to go instantly!
Thanks
I owe a lot of people thanks. Thanks, everyone, for reading this blog. Thanks to those of you who leave comments. Thanks to those of you who wear a Fat Cyclist jersey in support of Susan. Thanks to Al Maviva’s wife, who sent an incredibly beautiful and comfortable hand-knit shawl to her. Thanks to the guys who have offered up frequent flier points so my family can travel for free to help Susan. Thanks to the guy who wants to anonymously donate his 2007 Gary Fisher Rig for the Triathalon raffle. Thanks to the guys at Twin Six, who have long ago stopped treating me like a client, and have begun treating me like family. I won’t embarrass them by describing how they’re handling payment to me, but let’s just say it’s incredibly generous.
I’ll always hate what’s happening to Susan, but I’ll always be thankful for what I’ve learned about people during this time. It’s incredibly encouraging.
Again, thanks.
PS: Tragedy On I-80: I just found out, via AP News, that “a trailer loaded with 14 tons of double-stuffed Oreos has overturned, spilling the cookies still in their plastic sleeves into the median and roadway.” Through my fog of devastation and personal loss, I still cannot help but wonder: does anyone have an idea how many Oreos it takes to make 14 tons?
Comment by Clydesteve | 05.19.2008 | 8:58 am
The I-80 tragedy IS intriguing. And double stuff! Please let us know if you find out how many cookies this is.
Re: jerseys – Is the sizing the same as last year?
Comment by fatty | 05.19.2008 | 9:00 am
Clydesteve – yep, sizing is the same as last year.
Comment by Philly Jen | 05.19.2008 | 9:01 am
Heads up, folks — It’s not even high noon in the MiniApple, and the Twin Six servers are already slowing. There are no — repeat: Zero, zippo, nada, ixnay — phone orders. Just keep trying until you get through.
Comment by anji | 05.19.2008 | 9:02 am
I’d donate my airmiles to you too but – it seems I need to find out where the I-80 is, what the closest airport to the location and to bring my biggest duffle-bag with me… I may as well help with clean-up because I imagine 14 tons of cookies is a rather large amount…
Comment by BellaCroix | 05.19.2008 | 9:03 am
RAWK! Just ordered my pink jersey!

I just placed my order! It’s as exciting as waiting in line for the tickets to a midnight premier showing of Star Wars(yeah, I’m a geek), but this helps someone. Thoughts and prayers to y’all!
Comment by Epic Adam | 05.19.2008 | 9:07 am
Placed an order for a Pink Jersey. Can’t wait to get it in hand.
Comment by AJ | 05.19.2008 | 9:08 am
After waiting with bated breath all day (It’s 6pm in Dublin atm), I’ve managed to get myself a pink mens jersey!
They look fab fatty, and I’m glad to be looking stylish AND helpin you out a little.
Rock On
Comment by je | 05.19.2008 | 9:08 am
Jersey and shirt ordered (did all the men’s pink shirts in size L get order really, really fast?).
And why is this accident in Illinois instead of I-80 in Utah?
Comment by Big Boned | 05.19.2008 | 9:08 am
OK, so where are they hiding them on the website. I don’t see any?
Comment by Shortbus | 05.19.2008 | 9:08 am
Couldn’t decide between the pink (awareness for the cause) or orange (favorite color) so I’ve got two on the way :-)
RAWK indeed!
Comment by Emily | 05.19.2008 | 9:08 am
Done and done. I didn’t find the servers that slow at all actually, and I bought at the stroke of 12CDT. Kudos to twinsix, they do great work. Awesome designs, high quality, and always really nice customer service.
Some sizing advice for the womens Twinsix jerseys, I find the womens sizing from twinsix to be not too tight. I am an 8 (and not super well-endowed, not to get too personal here) and the medium is a good fit.
Thanks Fatty!

ordered another pink and some more bottles
a damn shame about the oreos, we should divert a tanker of milk there and make a day of it!
ride with pride!

Just scored a Women’s jersey…..can’t wait to wear it in support of Susan!! WIN!!!

Hey Fatty,
Scored my jersey. If it gets here on time you’ll see it again on MTBR GLR thread. Went for the xl this time.
My condolences to Nabisco. It is a mighty loss. They will be missed.
Comment by sarah | 05.19.2008 | 9:11 am
where are they???? I can’t find them on the website!
Comment by Maddy | 05.19.2008 | 9:12 am
I’ve been waiting all day for this! I checked the time difference between Germany and the US so many times to make sure there was no mistake, and I’ve been rather excited the last half hour.
I’m new to riding, and this is my first ever jersey – I couldn’t think of a better first jersey to own.
Good on you Twin Six, and every good wish to Fatty and Susan and their family.
Comment by BellaCroix | 05.19.2008 | 9:13 am
Wow… just went back to take a peek at the men’s pink jersey and it’s already sold out… you weren’t kidding with the “limited” were you? So glad I got in the club. Find out if I was first of the day, I think the IT guys at work are going to be trying to figure out why I was hammering the refresh for 10 minutes.
Comment by Night Hawk | 05.19.2008 | 9:13 am
They accepted my order for a Mens PINK one WAhoooo!
I usually get a Rapha jersey a year but this is my choice for this year and I will contribute the difference to the fund.
AND feel better for it.
Hang in there Fatty.
Comment by Wild Dingo | 05.19.2008 | 9:13 am
Or how about wondering how fast a person can ride his/her bike there to score some free cookies?
Yippie Kai Yay! I got my woman’s PINK jersey…and a couple of bottles to match. It’s important to look good when fighting for a cause.
Comment by Big Boned | 05.19.2008 | 9:15 am
Sarah,
I had the same problem. I rebooted my computer, that allowed me to see them, then I had one in my cart and by the time I entered my CC number it said I couldn’t buy it – sold out. Tough to feel screwed when it was all for a good cause – I’m glad they sold out, just wish I could have gotten one.

Folks, many of you have cached (stored an old copy of) the Twin Six front page. Hit the “Refresh” button on your web browser, or…
Go Here to purchase.
As of this moment, Men’s Pink is completely sold out. Yay, dudes!
Comment by ellen | 05.19.2008 | 9:16 am
Whoo-hoo! I just got my jersey and I cannot wait to wear it with my flaming pink socks.
Win Susan!!
Comment by MJ | 05.19.2008 | 9:16 am
Ahh, managed to score a pink men’s also. Unfortunately, I ordered it a size smaller than I currently am. Sort of a carrot to get my fat butt in the saddle more. Hopefully I’ll be rocking it by fall.
Comment by Lori | 05.19.2008 | 9:16 am
If my brain is functioning and my math is correct, that would be 574359 Oreos. Oh, wait – you said Double Stuf – so who knows?
Anyway, just got my jersey!!!
Comment by Eric | 05.19.2008 | 9:16 am
Woohoo jerseys ordered 8)
My sister is training for a triathlon (no brats at the end, sad) and is dragging me back on the bike to pedal my butt (yeah not a skinny one either) around town (summer, Miami, Mosquitoes, traffic, first time with clips – yeah this should be fun!)
So I had the bike cleaned and fitted to me (that was a first). Needed some clips (as mentioned – for teh first time) and the tmobile pinks were on sale!
Then serendipity, I saw the new jerseys – so can you guess the color? Yep Pink – for both of us! (and the logo fits!)
Just to let you know – been a long time lurker in the blog, I envy your riding environment a lot! Strength to you and Susan! Ride well 8)
Comment by araqnid | 05.19.2008 | 9:16 am
14 tons is 12700586g, a six pack of Ores is 66g, so I make 14 tons to be about 2.1 million Oreos. Anticipating a probably future shortage due to this disaster, I am ringfencing a strategic reserve right now… nom nom nom
Comment by Jo Ann | 05.19.2008 | 9:18 am
I just got mine ordered. I’ve been checking all morning to see when they would be available. Guys around here think it takes guts to wear a jersey that says “Fat Cyclist”. (I do try to live up to the name). I think your family is the epitomy of guts rights now. Will wear the new jersey with great pride.
Comment by KanyonKris | 05.19.2008 | 9:18 am
No Small Men pink jersey? My wife wants one. Did this size sell out or not get made?
Comment by Ripa | 05.19.2008 | 9:19 am
The mens pink jersy XXL was gone by 12:04. I tried to get it but oh well. I have the fist pink one and I REALYY wanted another pink one but man people must be quick. I won’t wear orange (rival collee color, can’t do it). I’ll keep wearing last years jesery. Twin Six please make more!
Win Susan!!!
Best.

@Fatty: Through my fog of devastation and personal loss, I still cannot help but wonder: does anyone have an idea how many Oreos it takes to make 14 tons?
According to http://www.dietfacts.com/html/nutrition-facts/oreo-doublestuf-chocolate-sandwich-cookies-3796.htm, a single serving of DoubleStuf Oreos (2 cookies — yea, right) weighs 28 grams. 28 grams is pretty close to one ounce.
2 cookies per ounce, 16 ounces per pound, 2000 pounds per ton:
896,000 cookies dumped onto I-80. Oh, the humanity.
P.S. I got my pink jersey order in :)
Comment by Big Boned | 05.19.2008 | 9:21 am
Philly Jen,
I’m an IT guy. I WAS hitting the refresh. It didn’t solve the issue. I also closed the browser and retyped the address. Didn’t do anything for me either. I think their system just burped.

Hahaha! I’m the 2 in Canada. Sorry for jumping the line everyone! I just happened to click on their link after watching a movie last night and bam, there they were! Thanks Fatty and Twin Six. I will wear my jersey with pride and will send best wishes with each pedal stroke.
Comment by Willie Nelson | 05.19.2008 | 9:25 am
Oreos… 14 tons has to be like plenty-six or seven.
Comment by guzzijason | 05.19.2008 | 9:27 am
Originally, I was planning on getting 1 orange and 1 pink. But, I’ve already got a pink Sutter Home “Bike for Hope” jersey and a second pink jersey might raise suspicions… and I don’t need my wife looking at me that way ;-)
So, in addition to the orange FC jersey (wich may be the coolest looking jersey ever) I picked up one of those slick “Category 6″ jerseys. I’m fat and I’m slow, and now I’ll have the jerseys to prove it!

Comment by Philly Jen | 05.19.2008 | 9:29 am
@ Sarah — Awesome! Glad you were able to order.
@ Jeremiah, KanyonKris — I heard from Twin Six that men’s ‘08 Pink jersey was not produced in either XXXL or S, only M-XXL. (BTW, the fit on the TwinSix women’s jersey line is outstanding, if you can talk Mrs. Kris into one of those.)
Meanwhile, the new pink tees are moving like hotcakes: Men’s L and Women’s M are gone, gone, gone…
Comment by wackyvorlon | 05.19.2008 | 9:30 am
About the oreos:
It’s looks like the double-stuffed oreos weigh 29 grams each. 14 tons, is 28,000 pounds, or 12,700 kilograms.
We divide this by .029: 437,931.
So, roughly, ignoring packaging, almost half a million Oreo double-stuffed cookies.
Comment by Ripa | 05.19.2008 | 9:34 am
If anyone wants to sell their mens pink XXL I’ll pay you cost and give Fatty another $70. Thats $140 to the cause.
PM me if interested. Crossing fingers that the undergound black market will work.
Best,
Ripa.

Jerseys and Ts ordered…I guess my husband lucked out, all the men’s pinks were sold out so he will stay in orange.
I can not think of Oreos with out thinking of butter. My dad used to eat his Oreos with butter on them. Yep I come from a health conscience family.

Excellent. Love the new jerseys. Funny how fast the Pink sold out. Glad there was still regular left. I’d be curious to know how many jersey’s sell. Your a good man FC. Good on ya.
Comment by Lisa B | 05.19.2008 | 9:39 am
Nice to hear that the elastic on the arms is less constricting – that was my biggest complaint last year – yay for Ryan & Brent for this and so many other great things they do! I saw design prototypes for the new jerseys when we stopped by to say hi in the midst of a day-before-Christmas snowstorm and I bet they’ll be even more handsome in person. Can’t wait for a new pink! Yay Twin 6 and rock on Susan!
Comment by Lana | 05.19.2008 | 9:39 am
Last week I went to my local store to try on the women’s jersey just to make sure I got the right size since I am sure that there won’t be any to exchange with.
I normally never wear jerseys with sleeves, but for you and Susan, I think I will make an exception. W Pink on the way and can’t wait to get some new tan lines wearing it!
Comment by Brandy | 05.19.2008 | 9:43 am
I got mine !! And I picked me up a set of those Fatty Pint glasses too!! Awesome.
I love TwinSix, they rock. I met Ryan & Brad @ interbike in Sept 07, and they remembered me & the shop I am with at Sea Otter this year. They are great guys.
Win Susan!

FATTY: I got a call last night from a friend who had agreed to have me order two jerseys when the site went live today… He was the “One” in California who got in during the 8 minutes that the site was accidentally up last night… He and I will rock our Fat Cyclist Jersey’s every Saturday on our Coastal Group ride.. Thanks Fatty for letting us help, by wearing cool gear.. Thanks to the Twin Six guys for bucking the fashion trends in the cycling world..

Comment by John H. | 05.19.2008 | 9:51 am
Just ordered an orange for me, a pink for the wife and snuck in a T-shirt for me too! I did get below 300 (although I’m back above now) so I’m counting that and getting my reward! Fight Susan Fight!
Comment by Swedoz | 05.19.2008 | 10:01 am
I thought it was a bit early for the new jerseys to go live when I bought them. Often confused about the time difference between sweden and the states (tend to concentrate on difference with Oz) but this time it worked for me! Don’t blame me for a lack of pink men’s jerseys, I resisted the temptation to corner the market and only bought one. Can’t wait for them to arrive!
Comment by Angel | 05.19.2008 | 10:02 am
Picked up one for myself and one for the husband. This makes two matching jersey sets now. Please don’t throw stones. I swear we’re not that lame.
Comment by Tim D | 05.19.2008 | 10:06 am
I got a pink and an orange. Or rather my wife got them cos I misjudged the time differences, while I rode home in last years orange FC.
Comment by eclecticdeb | 05.19.2008 | 10:10 am
I wore my Pink jersey yesterday while on an organized ride through the strawberry fields on the California coast. I received numerous comments — “Does that jersey REALLY say Fat Cyclist?”. Given that I’m a fairly robust female, I know that some thought it was self-degrading. I quickly set them straight, and directed everyone who commented to hit the blog.
I hope to have my jersey swim on me someday, but given the amount of food I consumed during the ride, that’s not going to happen soon. With rest stops that serve freshly made crepes (with pies for sale too!), and mountains of strawberries dipped in chocolate fondue at the end, it was just basically one day-long progressive feast for me.

Underground pink market offer right now is $140. half for the jeresy the other going to the cause. Oh I forgot shipping.
Comment by hades | 05.19.2008 | 10:21 am
Darn it, I wanted a pink men’s and failed miserably in my attempt to buy one. What’s this about a Pink market? How about an auction for any remaining pink men’s, Fatty (we know you have a stash)? I’ll open my bidding $100 for a L or XL.
Comment by Don | 05.19.2008 | 10:23 am
So best I could figure there were about six total mens pink jerseys? I was refreshing at 1:00 when it went live and STILL did NOT get the address and credit card info before they sold out. SUCK! Oh well, I got a shirt and some bottles and stuff, so I guess I’m still pretty happy, I’d have been way happier if I got in on a Pink Jersey though. :(
Comment by buckythedonkey | 05.19.2008 | 10:27 am
Bah, no pink jerseys left. Will settle for a T and wait with crossed fingers for a re-run…
Massive kudos to the T6 guys for putting up with this day-at-the-sales stampede! :-)

Was able to score a Men’s medium pink and Women’s small pink when the site opened up earlier this morning. Hope to get them by the weekend…if not, I will be sportin’ in at the Buffalo Creek mountain bike time trial in two weeks!!!
Thanks Fatty!!!!

I don’t ride a bike but I love my new Fat Cyclist T-shirt! I can’t wait for it to come in the mail. I work at the Children’s Cancer Hospital at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, know that I am sending all of my good thoughts and vibes from Houston to you and Susan and the kids.
Comment by Joni | 05.19.2008 | 11:03 am
All this talk of Oreos…….anyone got some milk? :)
Many blessings and prayers for you all as you continue this exciting work for Susans benefit. Hope this day brings comfort, fun and many blessings to her! I would imagine this has been overwhelming for her to know of the love and kind gestures in her benefit from many she does not even know. Wow. I am encouraged by the goodness that is in people.
Comment by Al Maviva | 05.19.2008 | 11:10 am
Oreos, eh?
I’m unmoved. Sorry, but there it is.
Now if that truck was filled with bacon… I’d be crying at my desk. And sending out for a BLT. Y’know. ‘Cuz I feel their pain.
Comment by Don | 05.19.2008 | 11:10 am
So Fatty, will there be a re-run or slight variation run on the mens pink? I did get some stuff but I’d spring for a pink jersey on top of it.
Comment by The Cosh | 05.19.2008 | 11:12 am
Unbelievable! In the time between leaving work and getting home the pink jerseys have gone on sale AND sold out!

I scored a Women’s Jersey in the middle of the night. Subconciously my body knew there was a glitch on the internets, woke up and I was able to order. I’m thrilled in part because I get to wear it in Lake Tahoe in 11 days!!
Rock on, Fatty! WIN Susan, WIN!!!!!
Comment by Mrs. Coach | 05.19.2008 | 12:01 pm
I just ordered a pink T for the coach. I wanted a jersey but it looks like I’m *way* too late for that. I’d have gotten one for myself but since I’m 7 1/2 months into mini-coach I don’t think it’ll fit.
Oh, and called to combine two orders I placed and they said that they were doing 400 orders a day where they usually do 4. Wow.
They also answered and said “I don’t care what its about, we’re not here” They thought it was Fatty calling.

I just ordered my jersey. Hopefully I’ll be rocking the fat cyclist style on my next group ride in Atlanta. I hope the profits can do you and Susan some good!
Comment by Big Mike In Oz | 05.19.2008 | 1:08 pm
I still cannot help but wonder: does anyone have an idea how many Oreos it takes to make 14 tons?
The correct answer is… 3 New York police precincts.
Comment by Duane | 05.19.2008 | 1:09 pm
No pink jersey for me. A parent wanted to have a quick discussion about the behavior of their child in my class. I was thinking – who cares I have a jersey to order!
I did order a orange one – my favorite color. I also ordered a pink t shirt.
Pint glasses could be a nice Father’s Day present. (my wife reads the blog too.)
Comment by KTBee | 05.19.2008 | 1:34 pm
Oh crackers! Do you think any of the ladies pink t’s will be restocked in size small?
Twin Six…you rock! Awesome job!! Now could you go make some more? :)
Comment by Lifesgreat | 05.19.2008 | 1:46 pm
Twin Six’s jersey cuts and my body type don’t get along (just sold my nwot old style pink Fatty jersey to a friend) so I bought a pink t-shirt and socks. Thank you Twin Six for the great selection of Fatty items!

Woo Hoo, Got my Pink T-shirt ordered! I’ll wear it to the Y to work out! Yahoo!
Comment by Elizabeth | 05.19.2008 | 2:19 pm
Yay! Got my jersey and my t shirt and two water bottles so I’m set to roll. Boyfriend questioned whether I really wanted a bike jersey that sad Fat Cyclist. Um, hello? This is for Susan. I’d wear a jersey that said “I’m a big ol fat tub of lard and ride a beater bike from kmart” if it helped at all!
Be well!
Comment by Born4Lycra | 05.19.2008 | 2:24 pm
Gobsmacked here in Oz – did not get a mens pink top. Great news that they sold out – but gobsmacked all the same. Beaten by the dateline, home computer failure (never even managed to get on to the site from home seems it was a little busy) and 50 Team Fatty members not all in my size tho. Just to make this disaster a little less frustrating how many XL tops were available?
It’s a bit late to ask but why the limited run of men’s pinks?
Comment by Carlin | 05.19.2008 | 3:08 pm
Yay! I just ordered my new pink fatcyclist jersey. I love my old pink jersey and wear it all the time, for my commute to work. I even run in it! Thanks Fatty and Twin Six!
Comment by LindaLoo | 05.19.2008 | 3:18 pm
WhooHoo! I just checked my bank account, and there is debit to TwinSix. Looks like I got one. I had to work today so my nephew did the shopping for me. Thanks Jett (his real name). I will wear this as I train for the MS150 later this summer. WIN SUSAN! You are in my thoughts each time I see a bike (a lot).
Comment by Caren | 05.19.2008 | 3:24 pm
I was freaking out this morning when the Twin Six web site didn’t have the new jerseys available. As soon as I got back from my oncologist appoinment I was online…worried about what would be left. My husband thought I was nuts until he read Fatty’s updates!
Well, we both got new jerseys and will be proudly wearing them especially when we walk in the San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day!
Twin Six – WOW, what you guys are doing is INCREDIBLE!
Team FC you all ROCK!
I wish the papers/news covered stories like this!!
Comment by Greg | 05.19.2008 | 3:50 pm
For those of us on the West Coast, who don’t read Fatty until the end of the day, and who aren’t that fat, what now?
Do I have to wait another year to buy a medium jersey?
Sounds like Twin-Six has a hit on their hands, when is the second printing?
Comment by Pinkbike in Pasadena | 05.19.2008 | 4:18 pm
Okay, an orange jersey (my beau’s) and a girlie pink jersey (mine!) will be seen a lot ripping around the Rose Bowl (well, okay, Tom will rip, and I’ll pedal as fast as I can) here in Pasadena. We’ll be thinking about you all the while and keeping you in our prayers.
And thanks, Twin Six, for helping us support Susan, and cancer support in general.
LiveSTRONG, Susan and Elden.

I was this close there was 3x when I clicked to add to cart but by the time I filled out my information they were all gone.
Will you be getting more perchance?

Ohhhh, I scored a women’s pink jersey, a t shirt, and 2 water bottles. I am SO stylin’. I was so excited that I typed my address in wrong, then had to quickly write to twin six to correct it. I will probably be losing sleep until they arrive, and will literally live in the t-shirt. I donated to Mike’s effort and to LiveStrong too. Thank you Elden for finding a way we can help your family!
WIN SUSAN!!!!!
Comment by Miles Archer | 05.19.2008 | 4:38 pm
I got a “go fatty” from a fellow reader on my ride yesterday while wearing last year’s pink jersey. First time.
I hadn’t decided if I needed another pink or an orange one this year. I guess the decision has been made for me. I better get on it before the orange is gone too.
Comment by Miles Archer | 05.19.2008 | 4:39 pm

Got an XXL orange mens – glad I got home a little early today! Now, when I lose weight, I hope that there will be another round for me to get the XL…
All the best from Charles and Heather in Portland, Oregon.
Comment by CellPhoneGuy | 05.19.2008 | 4:54 pm
I was going to get my jersey no matter what, I had even set a calendar reminder in my phone for the date/time when they went on sale. By 12:04 I had completed my order and checked out. Cant wait to get my jersey and sport it on my next ride.
Maybe, “Like dandelion seeds…” will take on a whole new meaning and can refer to appearance of the new FC jerseys being worn on the trails in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks for letting us be a part of the team, Fatty. You and the whole FC team have renewed my faith in my fellow man.
Go Susan, WIN!

I missed out on a pink jersey due to forgetfulness, but scored one of the sort-of burnt orange ones. Hook ‘em Horns, and WIN SUSAN!
Comment by joliver3 | 05.19.2008 | 5:27 pm
Just ordered up a men’s large. I wanted a medium, but I can’t believe they sold out so fast. Just goes to show you how many people there are out here pulling for you!
Comment by Joshua Duggan | 05.19.2008 | 5:36 pm
While I desperately want to join the fatty jersey club, when I measured my chest, it was about 41 1/2-42″, just over the limit for the size L that’s left. I really can’t justify spending $70+shipping when I’m not sure I won’t get my jersey and find out it shows my somewhat modest sized gut.
So, I too shall ask, when is the second printing?
Comment by Joshua Duggan | 05.19.2008 | 5:37 pm
Yeah, that was me and my double negative. Bring on the grammar police! :)
Comment by Bryan (not that one) | 05.19.2008 | 5:58 pm
Simple economics of supply and demand dictate that due to a decreased short term supply of double-stuff Oreo cookies, the price will skyrocket. I’m buying out my local store before that happens and suggest you do the same. :-)
Win, Susan!
Comment by Jared | 05.19.2008 | 6:16 pm
NOOOOOO! The XLs are out! I had one loaded up in the cart on my work pc…then I came home just to find that they’re all sold out…should have bought it while I was at work :(
Is there going to be another run? Or is this it? I don’t want to miss out on a jersey 2 years in a row!
Comment by John | 05.19.2008 | 7:00 pm
Nice to see these again, damn, missed out on the mens, but opted for a womens XL while they’re still available!
Comment by Mark | 05.19.2008 | 7:02 pm
I was waiting to go shopping at Noon and promptly loaded up my cart with a Large in both orange and pink. Then, for some unexplained reason, I took the pink one out. I had it, but gave it away. Damnit…
Still, I’ll be proud to pimp the standard one. :-)

Comment by Richard | 05.19.2008 | 7:07 pm
I guess I also spoke too soon. I got home and had an e-mail from twin six saying that although I had completed the purchase for a pink jersey, that they were actually out…seems they couldn’t close the site fast enough……I’m glad they went so fast, cut wish I could have gotten one….anyway, they are going to send me one of the orange ones….”go Okie State Cowboys!”
Comment by Sean | 05.19.2008 | 7:16 pm
“a trailer loaded with 14 tons of double-stuffed Oreos has overturned, spilling the cookies still in their plastic sleeves into the median and roadway”
Where’s a milk truck when you need it.
Comment by Wendy | 05.19.2008 | 7:21 pm
OK, I don’t want to get too sappy in public, but my email is down, so I’ll say this here, Fatty. One of my regrets is that we didn’t do that pizza dinner last time Bob and I were in Utah with the boys last year and so, despite our having known each other for what? 18 years I think, I’ve never actually met Susan. That bums me out. Please give her my love. Also loved your post about the miracle cures from a few days ago. While I was reading some of it out loud to my sister, she immediately started telling me about someone she knows who did a miracle cure in Mexico. Seems people can’t help themselves. Your post was very moving.
Comment by KT | 05.19.2008 | 7:40 pm
Woot! I got mine! :) Happiness!
This makes up for the crap weekend I had– okay, it wasn’t total crap, it was just a lot of hard work outside in very hot weather. Herding cats, as it were.
Go, Fatty! WIN, SUSAN!!!

Snoozed and Losed…
I guess I deserve missing out. I mean I did wait until 20 hours after they were on sale to try to get one.
Comment by Rox | 05.19.2008 | 10:05 pm
Please Fatty, we beg you, do another run of men’s pink jerseys. I wear my pink one from last year about three times a week with pride. Even if I don’t feel like riding after I put it on it makes me think about all the people who are fighting for their lives and aren’t able to go out and ride. Somehow it always puts things in perspective for me.
Love to you and your family.
Comment by buckythedonkey | 05.19.2008 | 11:30 pm
Congratulations Elden!
Although I didn’t get one (gutted!), I’m absolutely delighted that you’ve had such an amazing day of jersey sales – you must have been bricking yourself at the thought of the Jersey Mountain waiting to be sold.
I do have a request though: next time could you please, please, please give us the opportunity to pre-order (and pre-pay) for our jerseys?
I think it’s marvellous that they’ve all gone – and I’ve scored one of the new pink Ts which are pretty damned cool. I bagged another T6 shirt too – I hope that they scored plenty of collateral spending, they certainly deserve it.
Comment by Jake | 05.19.2008 | 11:44 pm
Gutted!
Into work early this morning, here in the UK, log on to my PC, get the credit card ready – and they’re gone!
Go to say, though, well done everyone!

Has anyone heard about this French amateur cyclist who is running the 3 European tours one day ahead of the pros ? His name is Guillaume Prébois and he is running the Giro right now. Comment by flossy | 05.20.2008 | 3:33 am
I ordered my jersey between update 5 and 6. I’m so glad I didn’t wait until I got home from work but ordered mine instead of doing some tediously boring administrative task :) The other half is not so happy as he missed out on his size. Well done though!
Comment by VA Biker | 05.20.2008 | 5:35 am
So, I was too late to get a jersey this year. I would pre-order/pre-pay for a jersey to help support a second run in 2008.
Dullard question/joke: um, so what sizes do the pint glasses come in? :-) I’m going to buy a set.
Great to see so much support. 500pcs is a heck of a lot, and I’d be having a stress attack beyond belief waiting for them sell. Glad that’s “off the books” for you already!
Comment by LisaL | 05.20.2008 | 5:45 am
Missed out on the XL W jersey, and I’m far too much of a fat cyclist to be fitting into a medium or large, so I went for the XL pink ladies shirt this time. Oh well, next time I’ll be more on the ball!
Comment by TomE | 05.20.2008 | 6:10 am
Fatty – even though I scored a mens pink and a womens pink….I would still buy an orange one if you did a reprint.
Comment by Carolyn | 05.20.2008 | 6:40 am
Just ordered my spanky new pink t-shirt. I didn’t get the jersey – b/c they’re sold out. And I’m not a cyclist – don’t hate me. But I think the t-shirt will be awfully comfy to wear while laying on the couch eating bad food and trolling my favorite blogs. Like this one.
Comment by Darby Shaw | 05.20.2008 | 7:21 am
How about a long sleeve version and maybe bib shorts with the fatty logo on the rump?
Comment by Maddy | 05.20.2008 | 8:35 am
I’d buy a women’s orange to add to my women’s pink…
Comment by fijiwriter | 05.20.2008 | 9:00 am
@Fatty – did Twin Six say when these products will go out their door? I’m not being impatient, just curious.
Comment by Rob | 05.20.2008 | 9:36 am
Please do another run of jerseys ASAP. By the time I saw that the jerseys were on sale, I should have been walking out the door, and going to work, so I planned to order them later. Then I had a late night at work so I didn’t get back on-line until now, just to see that all men’s jerseys are sold out. Please talk to the twin six guys about making more jerseys soon.
Comment by Buzz | 05.20.2008 | 9:40 am
Fatty, Seriously, Twin Six has got to do another run of all the colors. 500? Really? Surely the counters on your blog makes it clear you havemore readers than that! It was a crazy day for me at the office and I missed. Oh well. maybe in the fall, but I like the idea of bibs with the logo on the hiney!
Comment by Isaac | 05.20.2008 | 1:41 pm
Wow. So I live in the Twin Cities–same place as Twin Six. And I got my jersey today. Pretty cool.
Comment by Tim D | 05.21.2008 | 4:59 am
I know people were disappointed if they didn’t get what they wanted, but can I ask that you don’t just do a straight re-run, especially of the pink. As one of the lucky ones who got a pink jersey, I like the fact that it is a “limited edition”. If you do another pink run, change the design at least a bit please. Although with 4 FC jerseys now, I don’t think I will be in the market for another too soon.
Comment by Graham | 05.21.2008 | 7:27 am
I’d be happy to pre-order / pay for a jersey if it would help get a second run made. Oh, and I agree with Tim D. If the pinks were a limited edition they should stay that way, but don’t deny us the chance to get our hands on an orange one!
Comment by jetzealautz | 05.21.2008 | 9:59 am
Fatty,
I am disappointed not to get a pink jersey and pleased to get a regular jersey. However, that is not the reason for my comment
I am compelled to comment on the overwhelming compassion of mankind and their need to come to the aid of each other. You have shared how surprising this has been for you. But you must realize that you alone are responsible for creating an environment which led to this outpouring of love to occur. You have unselfishly opened yourself up and allowed us to get to know you. Ordinary people have responded to you by unselfishly giving. At the risk of deflating your occasionally huge ego, these people genuinely care about you and your family are not the top 1% saints, they are regular folks around the world who give because they must.
I think it is safe to say that we are made to take care of each other. As we realize all that we have (which is considerable for Americans), the more compelled we are to give it away to someone we love.
I would challenge all of your readers to consider what this says about our Creator.
Love,
John

Hi Fatty,
BUMMER! I missed out on a women’s jersey… :-(
I am upset (as I missed out last time too – but I suppose that is what I get whe I am “down under”in Australia as I was working at the time they went on sale) but I have purchased a T-shirt and socks instead…. :-)
I look forward to possibly being able to buy a women’s jersey soon……

Everyone has their favorite way of using the internet. Many of us search to find what we want, click in to a specific website, read what’s available and click out. That’s not necessarily a bad thing because it’s efficient. We learn to tune out things we don’t need and go straight for what’s essential
