The 2009 Fat Cyclist Jerseys are Shipping
A Note from Fatty: You need to go on a ride tomorrow, right? Well, why don’t you go on Trek’s Breast Cancer Awareness Ride? I’ll be at the ride starting at the SLC Bicycle Co, wearing my awesome new 2009 Fat Cyclist jersey. I plan to bring a few more of these jerseys to give away. If you’re inthe SLC area, why don’t you register and come ride with me? And if you’re not in the SLC area, why don’t you register and go ride starting from the Trek dealership near you?
As many of you have commented, the 2009 Fat Cyclist jerseys have arrived from manufacturing. Those of you who pre-ordered are starting to get them. Once all the exchanges are taken care of, so that everyone who pre-ordered has a jersey that fits, we’ll put the rest up for sale. Probably in late November.
My opinion is these are the best-made, most-comfortable Fat Cyclist jerseys yet. And now they’re manufactured in the U.S., even.
My twins think they make fantastic PJs.
Of course, I was only able to get them to smile for the above picture if I promised to let them pose how they wanted for another.
I have no idea where they get their goofy sense of humor.
PPS: the hidden-behind-the-center-pocket message is awesome. And so true!

Just damn, Fatty. I’m glad to see the girls didn’t get stuck with all your genes. God bless them ;-)

Fat Cyclist jerseys for PJ’s! Now that’s something I have never considered. I wonder how the content in the back pockets would change. That’s something that makes you say Hum…..

Eldon, my wife and I received our jerseys last week. I took mine out for it’s inaugural ride the next day. Sweet jersey and I even had someone else comment that it was just as awesome!
As a sidebar, I started reading your blog this summer and pre-ordered the jerseys as it was something I felt good about helping with. Fast forward a couple months and now I have a close friend fighting brain cancer and a father in law that passed away from lung cancer. It’s amazing how this disease strikes so quickly and you never know who it will attack next.

I love the quote on the inside of the pocket.. my wife wanted to know who/what/why so I fwd’ed her the link to the body luxury/Dr. L saga.. A true classic! You are right fatty about the jerseys being the best yet.. When I spoke to Kev at interbike he hinted that the jerseys might ship as early as mid october… Twin Six FTW!!
Comment by Hamish A | 10.10.2008 | 7:31 am
There’s another string to be added to the FC / Twin Six clothing bow – PJ’s! Now you don’t just ride in FC branded gear you can snooze in it!
Sign me up for a Onesie!
Good to see the FC Twins upholding the Family tradition of pulling strange faces for the camera.
WIN Susan!

What does the inside pocket say? I wasn’t able to pre-order my jersey and my curiosity is killing me.
Comment by Aaron | 10.10.2008 | 7:58 am
Everyday…..Everyday I come home from work, hoping to see a package from Twin Six. Others keep speaking of how they have theirs, and how great they are…..and I keep waiting…..
Comment by Dave | 10.10.2008 | 8:02 am
Got mine yesterday, so they’ve made it all the way to the UK. Looking forward to wearing it this weekend; it sure looks great, as do your kids…so cute!! Anyway, thanks to all involved for producing such a great product.

Oh Man!
Your girls have changed even since I’ve been there. Too cute – I love those crazies. Tell them I cannot wait to see them again -

Got my jersey last week, but have a big decision to make.
These jerseys have magical weight loss powers.
The first one I ever ordered is now two sizes too big.
This recent one is about one size too big.
Do I trade or grow back into it over the winter? Keep it and order another when they go on sale? Or just accept that no matter what I wear, I’ll never pass muster if reviewed by Bike Snob?
Questions, questions, questions.
Either way, the message behind the pocket is so true….

That second picture is some of the BEST modeling I’ve ever seen!
Comment by bikemike | 10.10.2008 | 9:24 am
if i had girls, yours would be way cuter than mine.
Comment by Clint | 10.10.2008 | 9:27 am
I got mine about a week ago, but then I’m about 3 blocks from Twin Six World HQ.
Leroy, I’m counting on some of that magic to work for me. TwinSix and I apparently have differing ideas on what “3XL” really means. =)

Fatty,
Last Thursday I had a group ride scheduled, but it was one of those days at the office and I thought I might laze about when I got home. I arrived to find two jerseys in my mailbox (one for me and one for my mother who is a leukemia patient in remission). I just had to ride. It looks awesome, and for the first time, I know what a luxury body feels like. I’ve gotten several compliments, and my roommate (a graphic design guy and fan of comic books) says I look like a super hero in it. That could just be my massive pecs though. My mom will be rocking her jersey at her spin classes, and the next time we get together, I hope to take a picture to send to you guys.
Win Susan!

Yeah… I think I’m going to have to fight like heck for one in Nov.
Comment by je | 10.10.2008 | 9:36 am
my kids wear my bike jerseys or (gasp!) triathlon/race sag shirts as PJs almost every night.
And, if I must say, you might have the second cutest set of girls I’ve seen.
Comment by Steve | 10.10.2008 | 9:40 am
Got my jersey last week and am impressed with the high quality…great job Twin Six! Getting lots of compliments from the group too.
Your girls are beautiful! Enjoy every minute.

Glad to see the twins got your goofy sense of humor, and Susan’s good looks. Not the other way around.
WIN SUSAN!
Comment by Taylor | 10.10.2008 | 9:50 am
With all these people saying they got theirs I’m getting antsy how there’s no shipping info on mine yet.
Comment by Canadian Roadie (posing as a mtn biker) | 10.10.2008 | 9:50 am
Argh! What’s up with customs? Finland gets jerseys before us lowly Canadians?! The suspense is killing me! I was hoping to have it in time for my ride tomorrow but I guess I’ll just wear my pink lemonade one instead (it’s super cool too!).
Comment by scboom | 10.10.2008 | 10:28 am
Any idea where we can purchase one if we live in SC??? There isn’t a twin six dealer in SC and doesn’t it appear you can order them from their website… SIGHHHHHHH…. I shall never get one :(
Comment by Adventure Nell | 10.10.2008 | 11:22 am
dang it…Canadian Roadie and I are so jealous of everyone who has already received their jerseys. I think Canadian Customs must be so taken with the awesomeness of those jerseys they don’t want to part with them. Looking forward to wearing mine on one of the Dirty Girlz rides and representing Fat Cyclists everywhere!

Such cute girls!!! I can’t afford new jerseys this year, but I know they will sell out anyways.
WIN SUSAN.
P.S. Thanks for the update on Susan the other day.

Don’t want to read all the comments in case someone reveals the secret pocket message. Came home from work today to be greeted with a card from the Royal Mail saying they couldn’t deliver something and from my wife saying she’s gone to her Mum’s cos her Dad was taken to hospital last night. Hopefully nothing too serious, but he is 77 and suffers from severe trigeminal neuralgia. Hopefully, my shirt has arrived.
Comment by Clydesteve | 10.10.2008 | 12:58 pm
Fatty, should I just go ahead and email you my phone number so you can tell me I won 2nd place on the contest?
There is something magical about cute girls, big or little. When I make an ugly face, I look ugly. Scare small children and pets, intimidate the Burger Kind window girl ugly.
When cute girls make an ugly face, they look cute. think Kate Jackson, Kiera Knightly, my daughter, Fatty’s twins. Ugly face, still cute.
Well, in the case of Fatty’s twins, downright adorable.
Comment by BotchedExperiment | 10.10.2008 | 1:27 pm
Oh, yeah, the twins do look quite a bit like you don’t they?
Comment by Sean-o | 10.10.2008 | 1:35 pm
Fatty, the jersey is awesome! Received mine over here in Australia. It will probably be the last OS purchase for a while until our dollar is worth slightly more than dirt. All the best to you and your family, mate. You’re in our thoughts.
Comment by Mocougfan | 10.10.2008 | 2:57 pm
Just an update in case some are curious. I haven’t received my jersy yet. I (politely) called twin six to just check on it. They said they had shipped a bunch and had a bunch more to ship. The dude I talked to (can’t remember his name) was totally cool. Seemed like a class guy running a good company. Anyways he said they were shipping the rest out early next week.
Any fatty your girls are totally cute. Good thing you married well.

Wore mine last week…….did I say that already???

Really bummed because I have a wedding to attend tomorrow so I won’t be able to go on the Saturday morning group ride, so I won’t be able to show off the new threads.
But I did post a pic of it as well as my critique of the jersey as soon as it arrived. (Click above to find it)

Love the pics of the girls. They are adorable!!!!

I wore mine today. It looks awesome.
Comment by Brian Munroe | 10.10.2008 | 7:34 pm
I got mine last week. The quality is excellent and it actually fits my fat ass, err gut. I’m 6′-4″ and 285. Finding any clothes, let alone cycling stuff, is a challenge,
I do have two minor complaints:
1) The sleeve cuffs are a little bit tight.
2) MY girls(and little guy) are making fun of the pink-ness and the “pony” on the shirt. They are calling it my “pink pony” shirt, and saying it really says fatpony.com.
Can’t wait to get out on the road and show it off.
Comment by K | 10.10.2008 | 9:16 pm
I *heart* my jersey! Your girls are too cute :)
Someone mentioned it above and can I just say, I would TOTALLY wear a Fat Cyclist onesie! not just as PJs either.
Comment by Eber | 10.11.2008 | 7:05 am
Fatty – I’m begging you. Have TwinSix start taking preorders for a second prod run.
I have fear and anxiety…come November size S or 3XL will be what’s left for the lowly public.
I see Dug sporting one of the original Fatty’s (black w/ orange sleeves) and am covetous! The ‘09 version is just as cool.
Please throw some weight around with the guys at TwinSix so us slackers can get our hands on the goods.
PS – way to go on the $20K, the great blog, and WIN Susan

elden i’d take the new jersey for a spin today, but the snow started about 30 minutes ago, and i now have over an inch of snow in the yard, and i think it’s gonna go all day and all night. maybe 40 days and 40 nights. i need to stock up on doves.
i’m considering using the jersey as a backcountry ski base layer. no reason that wouldn’t work, right? nobody would see it, but I’D know.
Comment by Rick S. | 10.11.2008 | 11:21 am
Dug- I got up at 7:15am and did one last ride on Clarks before the snow hit this morning. It was dry when i rode but very cold.
Elden- The new jerseys are fantastic. Makes me want to break the law when I wear it. Not to mention Rachelle looks extra hot in black and pink.
Thanks!

I recieved my jersey last week, and I’ll test it out on Tuesday. Seems a wee bit tighter than the other jersey I bought from you at the same size. Not sure why, but the sleeves feel more tight than last time.
Still a nice looking jersey though :)
If I was having some issues (fraying) on the inside of my last FatCyclist jersey, would I speak with you about it or twin 6?
Win!

BTD SKIPS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE…
Please, please, please – no secret message spoilers! I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting to find out what’s in the middle pocket by looking at my own jersey whe it arrives.
It wouldn’t be a secret otherwise, right?
What beautiful girls you have! Maybe you can suggest that T6 to do clothing in kids sizes (at the moment they do toddler and adult but nought in between)…

Good news: I just got my jersey and it fits.
Bad news: It’s a 3XL and it fits.
