Christmas Story Number 1: If Santa Was a T-Rex!

12.19.2011 | 10:30 am

A Note from Fatty: I’m very pleased to announce that I’ve lined up a couple of top-notch guest posters for (most of) the days leading up to Christmas: my ten-year-old twin daughters. They have written and illustrated some great stories; I think you’ll enjoy them. I know I did.

The first story is If Santa Was a T-Rex, and was written and illustrated by Carrie. (By the way, you can see larger versions of any of the photos by clicking on them.)

Watch out for the twist ending.

If Santa was a T-Rex…nobody would sit on his lap!

3.jpg
If Santa was a T-Rex…he wouldn’t fit through the chimney or the door!

4.jpg
If Santa was a T-Rex…he wouldn’t be able to fly with his reindeer!

5.jpg
If Santa was a T-Rex…Mrs. Claus would have to do a lot of cooking!

6.jpg
Wait, if Santa was a T-Rex…what would Mrs. Claus be?

7.jpg
If Santa was a T-Rex…what would his elves be?

8.jpg
And if Santa was a T-Rex…what would he give to the kids?…Still toys! …. Just not always the right ones!

9.jpg
How strange it would’ve been if Santa was a T-Rex! … Good thing he’s really a GOAT!

Uhhh,………….I think I need to have my medication adjusted. The artwork and story are awesome! I just feel like I read a Christmas story by a young David Lynch…but in a good way. Now I demand more!!!

LOL! I see that Carrie has inherited your strange sense of humor. Great job, Carrie! I’m going to print this out for my 3 y.o. daughter. She will love it.

That so explains why each time I asked for something from Santa he said “Nahhhhhh”. I thought he was just being difficult!

Thank you! I’ll be here all week, remember to tip your waiters and waitresses!

    Great job Carrie!

Clearly she should have her own blog and it would be more popular than yours!

Great pictures! I think my favorite was his sad face when no one wanted to sit in his lap. That ending was awesome, I didn’t expect it at all. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I love it! I think Carrie has the makings of a great children’s book. Very clever and entertaining!

Thanks for the laugh on a Monday morning.

AWESOME! My favorite is the expression on the reindeer’s face when trying to pull the T-Rex Santa’s sleigh! I also love the drawing of the kid with half a mohawk, earrings, and sinister look on his face, as he’s receiving a doll, playhouse, and girly teddy bear for Christmas! The story has such drama…surprising twist at the end! Thank you for the entertainment Carrie!

This just made my day! Lucky he’s really a goat! Hahahaha!!! A wonderful story and amazing illustrations. Thank you, Carrie! =)

I particularly enjoyed the look of distress due to chimney issues.

Holy dinosaurs, I am impressed! I love how expressive the Santa T-Rex’s face is. I am for sure reading this to my son; he is going to love it. This is of publishable quality, in my opinion.

Can see that your twins are past Father Christmas flying around with Rudy’s red nose !

Looks like this story will have to go in your ” Caregivers Book ! Humour cures ALL ills !

Very best wishes for the festive season to you and your family and of course the ” Fatty Community “!

He’s a goat! That explains how he is so nimble on the rooftops!

Thanks for the clarification and my lunchtime laughs!

I laughed out loud when I came to: “Wait, if Santa was a T-Rex…what would Mrs. Claus be?” GREAT sense of humor. Somehow reminds me a lot of the “If You Give a Mouse A Cookie…” series.

    So creative…I am very impressed.

This is perhaps the best Christmas story I have ever read. Of course Santa is a goat! After all, I’m a goat so I oughta’ know!

Great story! I was totally shocked by the ending.

BTW, I have received more enthusiastic compliments on my FC/T6 Christmas Sweater/ L/S Tee than any other tee shirt OR sweater i have ever had.

Your daughter is so talented. What a wonderful story. Nice work.

No family should possess the amount of talent as the Fatty Family. Wow!! I’m VERY impressed at Carrie’s talent. After the caregiver’s book or in conjunction, how about a book of Fatty kid’s illustrations and stories? :) I’m in awe.

Great book, Carrie! You might consider making it an online tale at littlebirdtales.com. It’s a free site perfect for things like this and you can include your voice so that when you share it with your family and friends, they can hear your voice reading it to them. My class loves this site and I think they’ll love your story, too. Excellent work!

My dog howled, which is a big compliment from him.

I think Carrie got his goat.

I would hope that this piece from the next generation of comedian mastermind makes it’s way into a Fatty book. It is my new favorite Christmas story. By far.

  28. Comment by Tom | 12.20.2011 | 9:51 am

Great story. In the chimney scene T Rex looks a lot like Homer Simmson

  29. Comment by JL | 12.20.2011 | 10:18 am

That was A LOT easier to read than one of your posts. Maybe you could get some pointers…

  30. Comment by Crin | 12.20.2011 | 10:38 am

T-Rex Santa getting into the chimney is all types of awesome.

My 5 year old son LOVED your story and was immediately inspired to work on one of his own! We can’t wait to see and read more. Great job Carrie!!

Now, that’s talent! Let’s see the twins team up with TWIN SIX to design some amazing clothing…

  33. Comment by David | 12.21.2011 | 9:04 am

I loved these stories and their very funny illustrations. Thanks to your twins for them.

But, do they draw from life? Compare the post from 11.15.2011 “Fall Moab 2012 Part II: Power Faces” – Power Face 3 stuck in my mind.
Now compare it to the image above of the sad Santa T-Rex whose sleigh won’t fly.
You see? Perfect match (especially the facial expression).

I’ve downloaded the images to compare, but it is quite beyond me to upload them back to this comments page.

I know, I ought to be wrapping some presents instead …
