You know, if you borrowed a bike, it would be much easier.
And then you could moto-pace The Hammer.
Hydrate, it’s going to be hot!
Allez Fatty!

Good luck! It can’t be easy to run with an extra leg growing out of your chin. Or maybe that makes it easier…
Comment by Tommysmo | 04.16.2012 | 7:37 am
It’s going to be f’n hot, Fatty! Take your time!
Comment by ClydeinKS | 04.16.2012 | 7:39 am

Oh wow…hot…that sounds pretty wonderful! (it’s been cold, windy n dreary over here in the UK the last 2 weeks…pretty chilly for a CA guy, and rain EVERY FREAKING DAY. I know…surprise surprise surprise…rain in the UK…who would’a thought.
You’re out on the course as I type Fatty…DON’T HURT YOURSELF! Survive the RUN! Live to RIDE!

Fatty and the Runner together at 20K split (1:58:03) with projected finish time of 4:03:09.
Comment by Roger | 04.16.2012 | 12:09 pm
Fatty and the Runner still together at 30k, 3:09:23, projected finish 4:26:22
Comment by JIm B | 04.16.2012 | 12:56 pm
35K @ 3:53, projected finish @ 4:41. However, Fatty’s pace is declining dramatically, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up walking/limping in later than that.
Comment by Roger | 04.16.2012 | 1:24 pm
40k @ 4:33, pace is coming back :)
Comment by Clydesteve | 04.16.2012 | 1:30 pm
40K Elden 04:33:48; Lisa 04:32:45. I think Elden told Lisa to go on, but she has remained ~30-60 sec ahead sinve the 35K split – remaining within sight, but far enough ahead so she does not have to respond to any insistent orders to go on.

Does it help that I’m praying for you? I bet it does. I bet you felt great the last little bit. YOU CAN DO IT! YOU ARE BOTH AWESOME!
PS My uncle-in-law finished in 3:37:25. I think that’s because he’s really a robot. Who runs that fast? Robots. And Kenyans.
EXCELLENT JOB!

Excellent job!!

Congratulations Fatty and The Hammer! What a brutal day to run a marathon. Another reason why I’d rather ride. Running is just yuck (sorry Hammer!). :)

Way to go Elden, truly a fatastic effort!!! I do hope when you return home you remember to build that pedestal for Lisa a little higher than it presently is.
Lisa, thank you for bringing the big(?) man in. I think we would all love to hear your report of what it took to keep Elden going. We know he has a lot of personal determination, but those that run also know how brutal a marathon is on the psyche.
And thank you to everyone for putting up the splits. Made me feel like I was there watching.
Next stop London Marathon????
